About 5 years ago, maybe 10, who is counting. I wrote a parody for the night before Xmas. I thought it might be time to revise it.

Here we go.
A Christmas Eve Parody

"Twas night here on Wall Street" - by Steve Gail

( Part II - The Sequel )

Twas the night before Xmas and Wall street's the place

The Brokers had finished with smiles on their face;

The S&P, Nasdaq had done more than fair.

As visions of bonuses, they hoped would be there

The traders were beaming, enough need be said,

While a market recovery would dance in their head;

With interests rates trading near their Fed all time low.

Talk of an increase, got a flat outright NO!.

Then on CNN, there came such a clatter

I had to found out, just what was the matter.

The housing starts made a case quite compelling.

That industry group still everyone's selling.

The Nasdaq composite started climbing that day.

closing at year highs, seems no more to say.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

surprising Job numbers, what a good thing to hear,

The volume increasing so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment we'd see an uptick.

More rapid than eagles the buyers they came,

And investors shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Apple! Now Google! Intel and some Pfizer.

Gotta be long cried each Investment Advisor.

Its A double top rally, thats due for a fall.

Now short away! short away! fibinucci and all!"

As silence leaves before the hurricane flies,

The too late investors come in with their buys,

So up to new highs, the indexes flew,

With a sleigh full of promise, and the Fed chairman too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on TV

This jibber and jabber - MSNBC.

As I knew in my head, when the market went down,

that buyers were looking, for another rebound.

They all had their money, some more than most

"I'll catch the bottom, they claimed in a boast.

Like A bundle of toys, they had bought once when young

They selected stock choices until trading was done.

Their eyes how they twinkled! Their faces with glee.!

they kept buying tech stocks, with outrageous P/E's,

And their brokerage accounts were margined to max

even using their money earmarked to pay tax

And the opportunity they though quite at hand.

Would lead to a message they'd soon understand,

The market has climbed almost 60 percent.

When will they profit from this money they've spent,

Then I laughed when I saw them, the advisors I mean

Getting out with a profit, remains to be seen.

They spoke not a word, but went straight to their graphs,

And filled all their orders then turned with a laugh,

And poised with their fingers on their mouse with a sigh,

Gave a nod to their traders to sell at the high

They sprang to their feet, gave their traders a whistle

They sold all positions as fast as a missile.

But I heard them exclaim, as they said it again.

"We're taking our profits in Two thousand and ten(2010)!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night."

Have a great holiday.
