We look to be in for a higher open this morning with equity futures higher across the board. Dow futures are up 45, S&P futures are higher by 5.3 and Nasdaq futures are up 20.
The Nikkei 225 in Japan closed down 4.05%, amid more political worries. Japan's Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori has finally decided to resign. With the uncertainty of who is going to take over, the economic relief package for banks has been put in doubt. Elsewhere in Asia, the Hang Seng finished down 1.49%, and the Shanghai Composite in China finished up 0.42%.
Indices in Europe are higher, mostly led by oil and chemical stocks. The German DAX is up 1.65%, the French CAC 1.29% higher, and the FTSE in London is now up 1.00%. Finland's Nokia (NOK) is down 3% on concerns from U.S. equipment makers.
