US Markets closed after apparent terrorist attacks

Printer friendly version

All US markets are closed after this morning apparent terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center towers in Manhattan, New York and airplane suicide attacks at the Pentagon in Washington DC. Both World Trade Center towers have collapsed and that area houses much of the financial district.

The Premier Investor Network will not be giving further market news today. It is a very sad day indeed for the world. The Premier Investor Network hopes that all of our subscribers and those people around the areas affected are safe. We have had the great pleasure of meeting people from around the world and in different parts of the country.

The FAA has grounded all flights across the United States and diverted overseas traffic coming into the U.S toward Canadian airports. The government of Canada has also closed its airspace and is currently only letting diverted traffic from the United States to land.

I personally befriended a fellow trader/investor from Manhattan by the name of Paul. I have sent him an e-mail and hope that he is OK. We correspond often about stocks and various personal happenings in our day-to-day lives. Today is a grim day indeed. Events like those that have unfolded today put things in perspective. While we monitor our investment dollars on a day-to-day basis, today's events surely put things in perspective as it relates to tragedy.

As part of our investment service, stocks that may benefit from current events would be in the Oil, Precious Metals, Aerospace/Defense sectors and perhaps US Treasury bonds. Stocks that may come under pressure may be the brokerage stocks.
