Ascending Triangle

By connecting the price tops of a particular stock or index over a specified time period, a horizontal line is formed. When the price bottoms are connected for the same time period, an upward sloping line is formed. The two together create what is known as an ascending triangle. When this pattern is present, a breakthrough the horizontal line can be indicative of a potential rally on the horizon.
