Dogs of the Dow

The term Dog of the Dow comes from the Dow 10 Strategy, a strategy that suggests investors buy the 10 highest-yielding stocks in the Dow-Jones Industrial Average. This is considered to be value investing because in many cases, stocks that have the highest-dividend yield are those that have fallen in price and are out-of-favor with investors, and thus you have the term "Dogs of the Dow".
