Today's Activity

Stock/Options

Swing trade sold NAKED one (1) of the PetroChina PTR Jun $95 Puts (PTR-RS) at the bid of $1.10.

While monitoring the dx00y still holding above WEEKLY Pivot (84.60) I decided to close out the 1/2 position Newmont Mining (NEM) short at $49.78. ($+1.78/share, or +3.47%).

With the dx00y below WEEKLY Pivot (84.60), swing traded long just less than 1/3 position in shares of Goldcorp (GG) at the offer of $30.16. Stop currently $29.25, targeting a short-term (1-2 days) pop to $32.50. Small positions, and willing to act fast.

YM Futures

Day traded long the YM at 11,105 (Tgt= 11,148 : Stop= 11,135) and was eventually stopped at 11,105 ($0.00).

Playing recent pattern of weakness, day traded short the YM at 11,101 (Tgt= 11,052 : Stop= 11,135) and was stopped at 11,135 (-34pts, or $170/contract) as the YM went on to trade just above MONTHLY R1 to 11,198.

Some "sense/observation" of near-term trend reversal here.

Dateline WSJ Theme park-operator Cedar Fair LP is expected to announce the acquisition of CBS Corp.'s Paramount Parks division for $1.24 billion this morning, people familiar with the matter said, significantly growing the size of the Knotts Berry Farm and Dorney Park owner.

The deal represents a sizeable gamble for Sandusky, Ohio-based Cedar Fair, whose total market capitalization is just slightly above the all-cash offer laid on the table last week. In adding Paramount Parks, the company will gain control of five amusement parks around the U.S. and Canada. Perhaps the best known among them is Kings Island outside of Cincinnati, a long-time intrastate rival to Cedar Park, the Cleveland-area where Cedar Fair got its start.
