OK ... CL traders ... start your day counts. were 3 days above the 01/29/08 termination. Were 1 day above the 12/09/08 termination. Get that 11/20/08 on there.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 11:30:11 PM

CDE traders ... you taking notes? Traded a little "heavy" didn't it?

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 11:29:24 PM

cl09h ... all sesions, 10-minute intervals, recap SCO in and out. Note SCO, USO, CL's prices Link

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 11:07:48 PM

Me thinks we (oil short) may have gotten technically bamboozled today with gold leading the charge.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:55:57 PM

oil's intra-day low before the ramp back was 09:30 AM. Heck here was some "oil observation" action at 10:35 AM with SCO (200-x bear) still up 3.31%. Link

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:52:01 PM

yes ... looks just like the silver doesn't it?

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:51:35 PM

Oil traders ... you following this?

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:48:27 PM

March Silver (si09h) Link

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:48:23 PM

Then, click to your 10-minute like we did at 10:00:28 PM and 10:05:19 PM. Turn "all sessions" on to get your 04:30 AM observation in silver, but you'll see the "difference" during the CASH/regular session.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:48:16 PM

Always the REGULAR SESSION when bulk of market participants are trading.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:48:11 PM

First things first ... REGULAR session only take that horizontal on si09h from the 12/17/08 (regular session) high of $11.615

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:30:11 PM

Yes, there ... see it? See the difference?

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:25:55 PM

This has the "look" of some type of currency "problem," GOLD is sometimes thought to be a HEDGE against inflation, but also CURRENCY.

Silver is the "follow gold" trade. Silver has some industrial flavor to it (used in industry) so it tends to be a FOLLOWER of gold as a "precious" metal.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:22:27 PM

OIL traders ... look at this gold stuff, remember what oil was doing this morning during cash session and the BID once gold and silver took off.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:21:32 PM

Nymex Gold futures open interest Link

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:16:24 PM

Biiiig volume today in Feb gold and double its open interest.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:15:12 PM

Something doesn't feel/look right.

The pound looks like it is in free-fall.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:13:15 PM

January gold isn't an active month contract though. It "doesn't make sense" that today's action would have been termination related.

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:09:47 PM

Correction to 01/23/09 09:43:40 ... should read "Termination of Jan gold is Tuesday" (not Feb gold is Sunday)

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:05:19 PM

Nymex Gold (Feb) Link

Jeff Bailey : 1/23/2009 10:02:04 PM
