See the Feb $46 Call and DNTick 4,414? Take $46, then add the AvgHLC of $1.92 to it to get $47.92.

Note that level.

Decent size bets on SPY $87 holding today.

Notable bet/hedge that $85 won't hold.

Many going after the $90 Calls.

Specs all over the $80 puts.

See the DnTickVol in Feb$87 Put?

On Monday, if OpenInterest INCREASES then likely institutional bet on $87 holding a buyer (likely the institution itself). If OI declines, then probably a retail closing out of puts.

YM 10-minute intervals with Monday's daily, and new WEEKLY Pivot retracement. Link

YM, INDU and DIA are still the weaker index in the Pivots and key index for ALL index traders (this is the tail, NDX/QQQQ has been STRONGEST). Note VXO.X on Friday and understand WHY (you must know how VXO.X and volatility measures read as they do.) I'm guessing that every day trader that thinks volatility measures are great for day trading shorted all day Friday?

"Certain failure" gets crammed higher from WKLY S1 near MONTHLY Pivot from Thursday morning.

WKLY S1 to MONTHLY 38.2% become CRITICAL "stimulus" support zone. That's ... DOES THE MARKET SEE IT AS POSITIVE. If MARKET PARTICIPANTS do, then it holds.

FIRST sign of "no belief in stimulus" would be WKLY Pivot/DAILY S1.

Like it = WKLY R1.

Love it= W R2.

LOVE YOU but see you later = M R1.

"Dip and Rip" = ... Lower open stick at WKLY Pivot, then Rip above MONTHLY Pivot.

"Pump and Dump"= DAILY R1, quick failure below WKLY Pivot and trend.

I'm going to make a couple of DOWNWARD trend adjustments to the YM chart here this evening and try to get them at some more responsive areas. LEAVING UPWARD trend. Build in a few "traps" like we observed Thursday afternoon during YM bull trade #1.

I'm also going to take a horizonal on MACD from early January high. IF YM near's M S1, move to more neutral bias. Has to get above the M Pivot first.

YM did trade Q Pivot in early January.

YM didn't quite get the GREEN #6 today did it? Settled "in the zone" of WKLY R1/MONTHLY Pivot (RSD) at 8,254. Gapped that dashed red trend, cleared the W Pivot and that was it!

Dorsey/Wright's BPALL edged up 3.29% to 39.02% (no chart change), BPNYSE up 2.83% to 46.45 (no chart change), BPOTC up 1.37% (not chart change), BPSPX up 5.60% to 52.80 (no chart change).

For the SPX, didn't it feel like strong short covering as the BPSPX juuuust wouldn't get the 3-box reversal back lower?

That MONTHLY 38.2% looks to be the technical PRICE level.

BPOEX added 2% to 51% (no chart change), BPNDX added 3% to 55 (gets 3-box reversal back up), BPDJIA even at 36.66%.

What strikes me on a bar chart of the IEF/SPY relative stength bar chart it that it looks strikingly similar to the yen, or FXY bar chart itself.

Jeff Bailey : 2/6/2009 10:27:19 PM

I've had a couple of questions from Dorsey users and I think this is why our good friends added the cash/SPX , fixed income/SPX and intl equity/SPX

Note not only the 11/20/08 to 01/06/09, but go back and look at 10/19/07. Review Thursday night/Friday morning observations regarding 10-year YIELD.
