Company Description

Why We Like It:
GENT is an Italian biotech firm. The stock has been showing significant relative strength since late July 2013. The current rally started with a positive approval by the European Medicines Agency for GENT's Defitelio treatment. As the stock has rallied these past few months there has been a string of analyst firms upgrading their price targets. This past week brought more good news when GETN's Defibrotide was granted orphan drug status by the EMA.

Regular readers know that I label most biotech stocks as higher-risk, more aggressive trades. We never know when a headline might surface about some approval process or clinical trial that could send the stock gapping lower (or higher). The stock has been volatile this past month. That might be a reflection of GENT's very small float of only 9.23 million shares.

I am suggesting bullish positions if GENT can trade above $52.00. If triggered our multi-week target is $59.00. We want to keep our position size small to limit our risk.

Trigger @ $52.00 *small positions*

Suggested Position: buy GENT stock @ (trigger)

Company Description

Why We Like It:
SLF is in the financial sector. The company provides insurance, asset management, and financial planning. Insurance-related stocks have been consistently showing strength lately. SLF is no different. The stock has rallied to new multi-year highs. What I find interesting about SLF is the significant increase in volume over the last three weeks. The surge in volume as SLF continues to climb is encouraging.

I am suggesting a trigger to launch bullish positions at $36.35. If triggered our multi-week target is $39.75.

FYI: SLF will begin trading ex-dividend on November 27th, 2013. The quarterly cash dividend should be 36 cents.

Trigger @ 36.35

Suggested Position: buy SLF stock @ (trigger)
