Long Play Updates
Amer. Campus Comm. - ACC - close: 26.69 chg: -1.06 stop: 25.49
We warned readers to expect a pull back in ACC today and the stock delivered. The pull back may not be over yet although we would expect the $26.00-26.25 region to act as support. A bounce from here or the previously mentioned support near $26 could be used as a new bullish entry point.
Picked on March 15 at $27.11
Aeropostale - ARO - close: 31.06 change: -0.07 stop: 29.99
For the most part the major averages churned sideways in a relatively tight range. Shares of ARO did likewise staying within a 32-cent range. We do not see any changes from our previous update and we would still look for signs of strength before considering new positions. Our target is the $33.95-34.50 range.
Picked on March 17 at $31.21
BE Aerospace - BEAV - close: 24.64 change: -0.02 stop: 22.95
Unfortunately, we have nothing new to report on for BEAV. The stock is still consolidating sideways. A bounce from $24.00 or the 50-dma near $23 can be used as a new bullish entry point. Our target is the $26.00-26.50 range but more aggressive traders may want to aim higher.
Picked on March 12 at $24.25
Hewlett Packard - HPQ - cls: 33.96 chg: -0.20 stop: 32.45
Same story, different stock. The markets consolidated sideways and shares of HPQ did the same. We don't see any changes from our weekend update. Our target is the $35.00-35.50 range.
Picked on February 22 at $32.94
IAC/InterActive - IACI - close: 30.64 chg: -0.05 stop: 28.99
IACI is still consolidating lower but the selling pressure has not yet broken the rising 10-dma. We don't see any changes from our weekend update. We are not suggesting new bullish positions at this time. Our target for IACI is the $32.90-33.00 range.
Picked on March 03 at $30.31
Synopsys - SNPS - close: 22.24 change: +0.13 stop: 21.74
SNPS tried to bounce from the $22.00 level today but the rally failed near $22.50. Today's gain erased Friday's losses. We are not suggesting new long positions at this time. Our target is the $24.40-24.50 range.
Picked on March 02 at $22.49
Smurfit-Stone - SSCC - close: 13.41 chg: -0.17 stop: 12.99
Volume has been pretty low in shares of SSCC the last couple of days while the stock consolidates sideways. It seems like traders are just in a wait and see mode. The pattern remains bullish but traders might want to wait for a move over $13.80 before considering new positions. There is some resistance around the December-January highs in the $14.25 zone. Conservative traders may want to exit early near $14.25. We're going to target a rally into the $14.95-15.50 range.

Short Play Updates
Baidu.com - BIDU - close: 50.78 change: +1.76 stop: 52.11
Shorts need to go on red alert with BIDU! This is the first close over the $50.00 mark in the last eight days. The strength in BIDU was fueled by a strong day for Asian markets, especially Japan, and BIDU also benefited from a strong session for Netease (NTES). More conservative traders may want to exit early in BIDU. We suggest all traders double-check their stop loss placement. There is the possibility of a short squeeze. We are not suggesting new bearish positions at this time.
Picked on March 09 at $ 48.32
Crown Castle Intl. - CCI - close: 29.76 chg: +0.66 stop: 31.01
CCI produced a decent oversold bounce today. We would watch for a failed rally under the $30.00 level and its 50-dma (30.25) as a new bearish entry point although we would not initiate positions with CCI over the $30.00 mark. Our target is the $26.25-26.00 range.
Picked on March 15 at $29.36
N.Y.Times - NYT - close: 25.99 change: -0.06 stop: 26.76
NYT has produced another failed rally under its simple 10-dma. The action lately looks like a narrow, descending channel. More aggressive traders may want to think about new short positions here under $26.00. We are suggesting that traders use a trigger at $25.64 to open positions. Our short-term target is only the $24.00 level since we do not want to hold over the earnings report next month. More aggressive traders with a longer time horizon may want to aim lower. Please note that NYT does have relatively strong short interest. The most recent data put short interest at 7.9% of its 134 million-share float.

Tribune Co. - TRB - close: 28.74 change: -0.62 stop: 31.01
TRB continued to sell-off today and the stock closed with a 2.1% decline. Shares are nearing what could be short-term support near its February low (28.40). That would be a good spot to look for an oversold bounce. Broken support at $30.00 should be new resistance. Our target will be the $26.50-26.00 range. We do not want to hold over the April earnings report.
