Long Play Updates

Digital Realty - DLR - close: 27.86 chg: -0.18 stop: 25.99

DLR is pulling back a bit after yesterday's gain. We would use a bounce near $27.00 as a new bullish entry point. We don't see any changes from our previous updates. Our target is the $29.75-30.00 range. We do not want to hold over the early May earnings report.

Picked on March 29 at $28.04
Change since picked: - 0.18
Earnings Date 05/06/06 (unconfirmed)
Average Daily Volume: 180 thousand

Denbury Res. - DNR - close: 32.32 change: +0.09 stop: 27.95

Another bullish day for crude oil helped DNR stretch its winning streak to seven days in a row. The stock looks ready for a dip. The P&F chart points to a $46 target. We are only targeting a move into the $33.50-34.00 range.

Picked on March 26 at $30.47
Change since picked: + 1.85

Nordson Corp. - NDSN - close: 49.63 change: +0.38 stop: 46.74

NDSN continues to show relative strength. Traders were quick to buy the dip today near $48.60 and the stock looks ready to push past the $50 level. We do not see any changes from yesterday's play description. Our target is the $53.00-53.50 range. We do not want to hold over the late May earnings report.

Oil States Intl. - OIS - close: 37.25 chg: +0.71 stop: 32.24

Crude oil rose over $67 a barrel and it inspired an early morning rally in the oil stocks. OIS hit $37.97 before paring its gains. The afternoon pull back might suggests that OIS will retest the $36.00 level before moving higher again. A bounce from $36 could be used as a new entry point. Our target is the $41.00-42 range Please note that we do not want to hold over the early May earnings report.

Picked on March 29 at $36.05
Change since picked: + 1.20

Smurfit-Stone - SSCC - close: 13.52 chg: +0.00 stop: 12.99

SSCC produced an early morning spike higher but failed to hold on to its gains. Lately we've been suggesting that readers use a move over $13.60 as a new entry point but this vacillation in the stock is draining our enthusiasm to open new long positions. Our target is the $14.95-15.50 range. We do not want to hold over the late April earnings report.

Picked on March 19 at $13.58
Change since picked: - 0.06
Earnings Date 04/26/06 (unconfirmed)
Average Daily Volume: 3.1 million

Trident Micro. - TRID - 29.59 chg: -0.37 stop: 27.49

Uh-oh! There could be trouble ahead. Rival LCD chip maker GNSS issued an earnings warning tonight. Shares of GNSS are down more than 10% in after hours. TRID is trading around $28.60 in after hours markets. If TRID opens lower and then rebounds then we can use the bounce as a new entry point but make sure your stop loss is in place. More conservative traders may want to tighten their stops toward the $28 level. Our target will be the $33.00-33.50 range. We do not want to hold over the mid April earnings report.

Picked on March 26 at $30.50
Change since picked: - 0.91
Earnings Date 04/19/06 (unconfirmed)
Average Daily Volume: 1.6 million

N.Y.Times - NYT - close: 25.30 change: -0.06 stop: 26.16

NYT is still going nowhere but the consolidation is narrowing and we suspect the breakout will be lower. More conservative traders may want to put their stop closer to the $26.00 level or even closer near the 10-dma (25.53). Our target is the $24.00 level. We do not want to hold over the April 13th earnings report.

Picked on March 22 at $25.55
Change since picked: - 0.19

Average Daily Volume: 1.1 million
