Intel Corp. - INTC - close: 15.88 change: +0.89 stop: 11.95

We were expecting a bigger decline in the markets and in shares of INTC. The stock dipped to $14.48 before bouncing back. As much as I would like last week to be the low for the market I'm not entirely convinced that the market won't retest its lows or worse. I'm keeping our entry point on INTC unchanged at the moment. I suspect that INTC can really bounce if it nears the 2002 low around $13.00. We're suggesting readers buy INTC in the $13.25-13.00 zone with a stop loss at $11.95. More conservative traders may want to use a tighter stop (say 12.50ish). If triggered at $13.25 our first target is $15.75.

Wal-Mart - WMT - close: 54.62 change: +4.57 stop: 41.95

Everybody wanted some WMT today. The stock soared more than 9% and did so on volume almost twice the norm. The move today was almost a bullish engulfing candlestick pattern (bullish reversal). I found it interesting that the rally ran out of steam near resistance around $55.00 and its 200-dma. We are not going to chase WMT after a 9% gain. I realize that our suggested entry point near $44 seems outlandish but this bear market isn't over. We'll see what the next couple of days have in store. If triggered at $44.00, then we will have two targets. Our first target is $49.50. Our second target is $54.00.
