Editor's Note:
The market's decline is pulling stocks lower and a few of our candidates are approaching our triggers. Look for entry points on strong stocks near dips to (or bounce from) support.

BULLISH Play Updates

Alcoa Inc - AA - close: 13.49 change: -0.32

Stop Loss: 12.45
Target(s): 14.95, 15.95
Current Option Gain/Loss: unopened
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes, see trigger

Comments:
11/13: AA came super close to hitting our trigger but $13.32 wasn't enough. I suspect that the correction is not over yet so I am moving our trigger from $13.30 down to $13.20. More conservative traders could wait for a dip to or bounce from the $13.00 level instead.

Suggested Position: Buy AA stock @ 13.20

Citigroup Inc - C - close 4.29 change -0.07

Stop Loss: 4.08
Target(s): 4.60, 4.75, 4.95
Current Option Gain/Loss: + 3.1%
Time Frame: 4 to 6 weeks
New Positions: NO

Comments:
11/13: Financials suffer on Friday as nervous investors took profits. C broke down under support at $4.30. I now suspect shares are headed for the $4.15-4.10 zone. Wait for the dip and then use it as an entry point to buy the stock.

Current Position: Long C stock, entry was at $4.16
Options Traders: Long December $4.00 CALL

CVS Caremark Corp. - CVS - close: 30.24 change: -0.62

Stop Loss: 30.45
Target(s): 33.50, 34.90
Current Option Gain/Loss: unopened
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes, see trigger

Comments:
11/13: Uh-oh! CVS has broken down under short-term support near $30.50 and its 50-dma. The stock did find additional support near $30 and its 100-dma but the up trend could be in jeopardy. I am suggesting we stick to the plan and wait for a move to $31.80 or higher. More aggressive traders may want to consider buying a bounce from $30 but I would only do so with a tight stop! Our first target is $33.50. Our second, longer-term target is $34.90.

BULLISH TRIGGER @ 31.80

Suggested Position: buy the stock @ 31.80

Hansen Natural Corp. - HANS - close: 50.15 change: +0.30

Stop Loss: 47.25
Target(s): 51.75
Current Option Gain/Loss: unopened
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes, see trigger

Comments:
11/13: HANS displayed a little bit of relative strength on Friday with a +0.6% gain. I can understand the temptation to buy this bounce. HANS has rebounded from the simple 40-dma in the past. However, I suspect the stock will test support near $48.00. Keep your positions small to limit your risk.

Earlier Comments:
Use a trigger at $48.25 to buy HANS or buy calls. If triggered we'll use a stop loss at $47.25.

Suggested Position: BUY the stock at $48.25

Kroger Co. - KR - close 22.99 change +0.34

Stop Loss: 21.45
Target(s): 23.70
Current Option Gain/Loss: + 1.95%
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes

Comments:
11/13: Our KR play is off to a good start. Shares outperformed on Friday with a +1.5% gain. I wouldn't be surprised to see another dip toward $22.75-22.50 and if that occurs we can use it as another entry point. More conservative traders may want to use a tighter stop loss closer to $22.00.

Earlier Comments:
Stop loss at $21.45. Our target is $23.70 near the April highs. We'll set a secondary, longer-term target at $24.75.

Current Position: Long KR stock @ 22.55

Entry on November 9th @ 22.55

Tractor Supply Co. - TSCO - close: 40.68 change: -1.06

Stop Loss: 38.75
Target(s): 44.75
Current Option Gain/Loss: unopened
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes, see trigger

Comments:
11/13: We are expecting a pull back in TSCO and it looks like the correction has started on Friday with a -2.5% decline. The low was $40.58 and our trigger was $40.50 so we're still waiting. I suspect TSCO will actually dip to $40.00 so I'm adjusting our trigger lower to $40.10 and we'll move the stop loss to $38.75, just under the simple 50-dma.

Buy-the-Dip Trigger @ $40.10

Suggested Position: Buy TSCO stock @ 40.50

SPDR Financial ETF - XLF - close 14.94 change -0.25

Stop Loss: 14.45
Target(s): 17.25
Current Option Gain/Loss: - 2.3%
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes

Comments:
11/13: Financials continue to pull back and the early November rally is almost gone. The XLF has pulled back toward what should be some technical support at the 200-dma. If that fails we can look for a dip toward $14.75. I would use Friday's decline as a new bullish entry point but more conservative traders may want to wait for a bounce first.

Earlier Comments:
Stop loss is at $14.45. Our first target is $17.25. You might want to buy call options instead of the ETF because the XLF doesn't move very fast (I'm thinking the 2011 January calls).

Current Position: Long the XLF (etf) @ 15.25

- or -

Options Traders: Long the 2011 January $15.00 call, entry @ $0.85

BEARISH Play Updates

Corporate Office Properties - OFC - close: 35.46 change: -0.17

Stop Loss: 37.05
Target(s): 32.25, 30.25
Current Gain/Loss: - 1.11%
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes

Comments:
11/13: Friday proved to be another quiet session with OFC trading in a 50-cent range. Traders bought the dip midday near $35.00. I don't see any changes from my prior comments. Readers can wait for a failed rally under $36.00 or a new decline under $35.00 as bearish entry points.

FYI: The P&F chart is currently bearish with a $29 target.

Current Position: Short OFC stock @ 35.07

Target(s): 34.50
Current Option Gain/Loss: unopened
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes, see trigger

Comments:
11/13: NYX continues to underperform. The stock broke down and closed under technical support at its 200-dma. I am dropping it as a bullish candidate. Our trigger was never hit.

Stop Loss: 11.75
Target(s): 13.75
Current Option Gain/Loss: - 0.65%
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
New Positions: Yes

Comments:
11/13: The market's widespread decline was too much for SLM. The stock broke down under support at $12.00 and slipped to $11.71 intraday. Our stop loss was hit at $11.75.

Closed Position: Entry on SLM stock @ $12.25, Exit @ 11.75 (-4.0%)
