Editor's Note:
The market's major indices were breaking key support levels with today's widespread decline.

I have removed BAC as a candidate. CROX and NTGR were triggered.

Entry on November 06 at $43.85
Listed on November 3, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 687 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: Shares of BLL actually held up pretty well today. The stock did dip this morning as the market plunged. Yet BLL managed a midday bounce and the stock actually hit a new high before paring its gains.

Our multi-week target is $48.00.

current Position: Long BLL stock @ $43.85

11/06/12 triggered @ 43.85

Ryland Group - RYL - close: 34.70 change: -0.02

Stop Loss: 32.90
Target(s): 39.50
Current Gain/Loss: + 0.6%

Entry on October 31 at $34.50
Listed on October 27, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 1.3 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: Shares of RYL also weathered the market's storm today pretty well. Traders bought the dip near $34.00 and its simple 10-dma. I still remain cautious on the stock. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

If we do get stopped out, watch for a dip toward $30 and its 50-dma, which may be a new bullish entry point.

The plan was to keep our position size small to limit our risk.

current Position: Long RYL stock @ 34.50

11/02/12 RYL has produced a potential bearish reversal pattern
11/01/12 new stop loss @ 32.90
10/31/12 triggered @ 34.50

Symantec Corp. - SYMC - close: 18.21 change: -0.64

Stop Loss: 17.99
Target(s): 19.95
Current Gain/Loss: - 3.4%

Entry on November 2 at $18.85
Listed on November 1, 2012
Time Frame: 3 to 6 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 8.6 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: Ouch! The tech-heavy NASDAQ was hit hard today and the index gave up -2.4%. Shares of SYMC underperformed the NASDAQ with a -3.3% drop toward short-term support near $18 and its 50-dma. If there is any follow through lower tomorrow I would expect SYMC to hit our stop loss at $17.99. I am not suggesting new positions.

Earlier Comments:
I do consider this a slightly more aggressive trade so we will want to limit our position size.

*Small Positions*

current Position: Long SYMC stock @ $18.85

Long DEC $19 call (SYMC1222L19) entry $0.71

BEARISH Play Updates

Cohen & Steers Inc. - CNS - close: 27.03 change: -0.47

Stop Loss: 28.55
Target(s): 25.15
Current Gain/Loss: + 2.7%

Entry on November 06 at $27.78
Listed on November 5, 2012
Time Frame: 3 to 6 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 182 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: Thus far shares of CNS are cooperating with another decline. Shares fell -1.7% and hit new multi-month lows. It would appear that CNS management is trying to stop the bleeding in its share price. Tonight, after the closing bell, they just announced their regular quarterly cash dividend of 18 cents and a special cash dividend in the amount of $1.50 per share. The payable date for both is Dec. 20th to shareholders on record as of Nov. 30th. News of this special dividend could spark buying interest from income investors. Based on today's price the two dividends offers a 6% gain.

I would not be surprised to see a bounce tomorrow. Look for resistance near $28.00 and its 10-dma. I am lowering our stop loss to $28.55. I am not suggesting new positions.

Earlier Comments:
Our target is $25.15. FYI: The Point & Figure chart for CNS is bearish with a $19.00 target.

*Small Positions*

current Position: short CNS stock @ $27.78

11/07/12 new stop loss @ 28.55

Listed on November 6, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 2.4 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: CROX already looked weak and today's widespread market decline helped push the stock to a new multi-year low. Our trigger to open bearish positions was hit at $12.40. I would still consider new positions now.

Remember that we want to keep our position size small to limit our risk.

*Small Positions*

Suggested Position: short CROX stock @ $12.40

Average Daily Volume = 35.7 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: HPQ looked poised to breakout higher and hit our stop loss but today's steep market decline has produced a bearish reversal. HPQ gave back -4.9%. Readers might want to wait for a new drop under $13.65 as a new entry point.

current Position: Short HPQ stock @ $13.88

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Entry on November 07 at $34.50
Listed on November 3, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 381 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: It was an ugly day for NTGR. Shares gapped open lower at $34.98, just under its 300-dma. Then the stock accelerated toward the $34.00 level to close down -4.0% on the session. Our trigger to open bearish positions was hit at $34.50.

Time Frame: exit on Nov. 9th to avoid the earnings report
Average Daily Volume = 838 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/07/12: The sell-off in TROX is picking up speed. Shares fell -4.1% to close at new 2012 lows. I am lowering our stop loss to $20.40. We only have a couple of days left.

Earlier Comments:
This is going to be a short-term trade. TROX is due to report earnings on November 12th and we do not want to hold over the report (more aggressive traders may want to reconsider and hold over the announcement). If our trade is still open, we'll plan to exit on Nov. 9th at the closing bell.

*Small Positions*

current Position: short TROX stock @ $19.75

11/07/12 new stop loss @ 20.40

CLOSED BULLISH PLAYS

Bank of America - BAC - close: 9.94

Current Gain/Loss: unopened

Entry on November xx at $ xx.xx
Listed on November 6, 2012

Comments:
11/07/12: The market's sharp decline on Wednesday hit the financials very hard. BAC underperformed many of its peers with a -7.1% plunge. It is unlikely that shares will hit our entry trigger at $10.15 any time soon so I am removing BAC as a candidate.

Trigger @ 10.15
