Editor's Note:
The U.S. market's major indices continue to slip to new Q4 lows.

EXR was triggered. SYMC stopped out. I have removed MAIN.

BULLISH Play Updates

Ball Corp. - BLL - close: 43.53 change: -0.43

Stop Loss: 42.40
Target(s): 48.00
Current Gain/Loss: - 0.7%

Entry on November 06 at $43.85
Listed on November 3, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 687 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/08/12: BLL struggled to see any follow through on its recent rally. Shares pulled back -0.9%. The $43.00 level should offer some short-term support. Readers can use a bounce near $43 and its 10-dma as a new entry point or wait for a new relative high.

current Position: Long BLL stock @ $43.85

11/06/12 triggered @ 43.85

EXtra Space Storage - EXR - close: 35.21 change: -0.17

Stop Loss: 34.25
Target(s): 39.50
Current Gain/Loss: - 0.8%

Entry on November 08 at $35.50
Listed on November 7, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 700 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/08/12: Hmm... EXR rallied this morning as expected yet shares gave back its gains to close negative on the session. Our trigger to open bullish positions was hit at $35.50. Yet I would be cautious on new positions. Wait and see if EXR bounces near $35.00 or $34.50.

In the news EXR announced after the closing bell that they were raising their quarterly dividend to 25 cents.

current Position: Long EXR stock @ $35.50

Ryland Group - RYL - close: 34.51 change: -0.19

Stop Loss: 32.90
Target(s): 39.50
Current Gain/Loss: + 0.0%

Entry on October 31 at $34.50
Listed on October 27, 2012
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 1.3 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
11/08/12: Homebuilding stocks drifted lower on Thursday. RYL gave up -0.5% and shares are now testing their 10-dma. More conservative traders may want to seriously consider abandoning ship given the market's weakness. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

The plan was to keep our position size small to limit our risk.

current Position: Long RYL stock @ 34.50

11/02/12 RYL has produced a potential bearish reversal pattern
11/01/12 new stop loss @ 32.90
10/31/12 triggered @ 34.50

Time Frame: 3 to 6 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 182 thousand

Comments:
11/08/12: I cautioned readers that CNS could see a bounce today following yesterday's headlines about new dividends. Sure enough the stock spiked higher at the open but the rally failed at its 10-dma.

Comments:
11/08/12: NTGR slipped to new three-month lows with a dip to $33.01 before paring its losses. If today's intraday bounce continues we could see NTGR bounce back toward the $34.50-35.00 zone. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Comments:
11/08/12: A sharp two-day decline has pushed SYMC below several moving averages and below the $18.00 level. Our stop was hit at $17.99.

Earlier Comments:
I do consider this a slightly more aggressive trade so we will want to limit our position size.

Comments:
11/08/12: MAIN clearly does not want to cooperate. The stock opened higher and then soared to a +3.9% gain. Shares are unlikely to hit our entry point at $28.90 soon so I am removing MAIN as a candidate.
