Editor's Note:
Shares of Tesla Motors (TSLA) exceeded our bullish exit target today.

Our AET and WTI trades were triggered. We want to exit our WCN trade at the open tomorrow morning.

Current Portfolio:

BULLISH Play Updates

Aetna Inc. - AET - close: 52.38 change: +1.25

Stop Loss: 49.90
Target(s): 54.85
Current Gain/Loss: + 2.2%

Entry on April 01 at $51.25
Listed on March 30, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 3.0 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: Healthcare insurance stocks were a bright spot in the market today. The industry rallied late in the session on expectations for a positive ruling on new Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates.

Shares of AET actually hit our trigger to launch positions at $51.25 this morning. Traders bought the dip twice $50.40 midday. Then AET spiked toward $54 in the last few minutes of the session on the potential reimbursement ruling news.

current Position: Long AET stock @ $51.25

AmSurg Corp. - AMSG - close: 33.00 change: -0.64

Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 218 thousand

Comments:
04/01/13: After the initial market sell-off this morning, AMSG spent a good portion of the day churning inside the $32.80-33.10 zone. The low today was $32.78. Our stop is at $32.25. More conservative traders may want to raise their stops.

The Point & Figure chart for AMSG is bullish with a long-term $50.00 target.

Current Position: Long AMSG stock @ $33.23

03/30/13 new stop loss @ 32.25

CSX Corp. - CSX - close: 24.20 change: -0.43

Stop Loss: 23.49
Target(s): 26.50
Current Gain/Loss: - 0.8%

Entry on March 27 at $24.40
Listed on March 19, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 8.7 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: CSX erased a good chunk of its recent three-day rally with Monday's -1.74% decline. Transports, which had an outstanding Q1 performance, were hit with profit taking today. The railroads were no exception. Traders did try and buy the dip in CSX near its 10-dma. Plus the $24.00 level should offer some support. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.
FYI: The Point & Figure chart for CSX is bullish with a $34.50 target.

Current Position: Long CSX stock @ $24.40

iShares Japan Index - EWJ - close: 10.38 change: -0.42

Stop Loss: 10.28
Target(s): 11.40
Current Gain/Loss: - 0.6%

Entry on March 12 at $10.44
Listed on March 11, 2013
Time Frame: 9 to 12 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 30 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: Ouch! It was a painful session for the EWJ. Our trade went from +3.4% to -0.6%. Today's plunge just erased about three and a half weeks worth of gains. So why did the EWJ crash? The Bank of Japan's quarterly Tankan business survey was disappointing and suggested Japanese businesses were pessimistic. Monday also produced a bounce in the yen. The Bank of Japan has a policy meeting this week and there was talk that expectations for new monetary easing may already priced into the Japanese market. All of these factors combined to produce some profit taking. The Japanese NIKKEI index was down more than -2% today. When the U.S. markets opened the EWJ gapped open lower to adjust for trading back home in Japan.

Over the weekend we moved our stop loss to $10.28. More aggressive traders may want to keep their stop loss below the rising 50-dma, currently at $10.22.

Earlier Comments:
We have a longer-term time frame for this trade to work. If you're going to play it, be patient.

Current Position: Long the EWJ @ $10.44

03/30/13 new stop loss @ 10.28
03/20/13 new stop loss @ 10.18

Listed on March 23, 2013
Time Frame: 4 to 6 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 242 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: LAD spent most of Monday churning sideways. Shares ended the day down -0.6%. I am raising our stop loss up to $44.95. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

Earlier Comments:
FYI: The Point & Figure chart for LAD is bullish with a long-term $65 target.

*Small Positions*

Mattel, Inc. - MAT - close: 43.55 change: -0.22

Stop Loss: 42.40
Target(s): 44.50
Current Gain/Loss: + 5.3%

Entry on March 06 at $41.35
Listed on March 02, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 2.7 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: MAT continues to move sideways below resistance at the $44.00 level. By the closing bell MAT had given back above half of Thursday's gains. Look for a dip toward the 10-dma near $43.00 if the market continues to retreat. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

More conservative traders may want to take profits right now.

Earlier Comments:
We may have to exercise some patience on this trade. It could take a while to get to the $45.00 level since MAT doesn't move very fast but the long-term trend is definitely higher.

current Position: Long MAT stock @ $41.35

03/30/13 new stop loss at $42.40
03/25/13 new stop loss at $41.80
03/23/13 new stop loss at $41.40, adjust exit target to $44.50

03/20/13 new stop loss at $40.75

Plum Creek Timber Co. - PCL - close: 51.78 change: -0.42

Stop Loss: 49.90
Target(s): 54.50
Current Gain/Loss: +2.4%

Entry on March 25 at $50.56
Listed on March 23, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 732 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: PCL spiked to a new 52-week high this morning with a quick rally to $52.64. Yet the market's widespread weakness sparked some profit taking in PCL and shares ended the day off -0.8%. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

*Small Positions*

Current Position: Long PCL stock @ $50.56

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Long May $50 call (PCL1318E50) entry $1.40*

03/30/13 new stop loss @ 49.90

Synaptics Inc. - SYNA - close: 39.50 change: -1.19

Stop Loss: 38.70
Target(s): 44.50
Current Gain/Loss: - 1.9%

Entry on March 28 at $40.25
Listed on March 27, 2013
Time Frame: 4 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 643 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/01/13: Monday was not a good day for shares of SYNA. The stock opened higher only to reverse. Shares ended the day sitting on short-term technical support at its 10-dma. Unfortunately today's move has painted a bearish engulfing candlestick reversal pattern. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

Earlier Comments:
Our target is $44.50. More aggressive traders could aim a lot higher. The Point & Figure chart for SYNA is bullish with a long-term $72.00 target.

current Position: Long SYNA stock @ $40.25

Comments:
04/01/13: WCN is not working for us. We want to exit positions immediately on Tuesday morning at the opening bell.

Listed on March 19, 2013

Comments:
04/01/13: The morning bounce attempt in GRMN quickly reversed. Shares plunged to a new 52-week low and underperformed the market with a -1.3% decline. I'm not suggesting new bearish positions at current levels.

current Position: short GRMN stock @ $33.93

Comments:
04/01/13: The disappointing economic data out this morning weighed heavily on material stocks and TCK lost -1.1%. The stock reversed at its simple 10-dma this morning. I am not suggesting new positions at current levels.

current Position: short TCK stock @ $29.00

03/19/13 new stop loss @ 29.25

CLOSED BULLISH PLAYS

Tesla Motors - TSLA - close: 43.93 change: +6.04

Stop Loss: 34.90
Target(s): 39.25
Current Gain/Loss: +17.0%

Entry on March 21 at $36.20

Time Frame: 3 to 6 weeks

Comments:
04/01/13: Target exceeded.

TSLA was one of the market's best performers. Shares gapped open higher at $42.36 and spiked to $46.68 intraday before settling near $44 for a +16% gain on the session.

The market's rally was fueled by news that sales of TSLA's model S cars were much stronger than previously expected. The company said they were amending their Q1 guidance to "full profitability".

Since our exit target was $39.25, the gap open at $42.36 immediately closed our trade.

closed Position: long TSLA stock @ $36.20 exit $42.36 (+17.0%)
