Editor's Note:
The small cap Russell 2000 index looks poised to breakout to new all-time highs soon. That should bode well for the broader market in general.

OMCL was stopped out.

Comments:
09/26/13: Thursday was a mixed day for gold and copper prices. Shares of FCX ended off their highs but still managed a very small gain.

Listed on September 18, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 4.2 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: Ouch! GT just erased a good chunk of our unrealized gains with today's -1.65% pullback. I didn't see any headlines to explain today's relative weakness. Technical traders will note that today's move looks like a bearish engulfing candlestick reversal pattern. I am not suggesting new positions. Look for support near $22.00.

current Position: long GT stock @ $22.50

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Long 2014 Jan $23 call (GT1418a23) entry $1.63

Comments:
09/26/13: NVDA produced more of the same today. The stock is drifting sideways between support near $15.50 and short-term resistance at its simple 10-dma directly overhead. I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

Earlier Comments:
Our plan was to use small positions to limit our risk.
FYI: The Point & Figure chart for NVDA is bullish with a long-term $23.00 target.

current Position: long NVDA stock @ $15.60

Average Daily Volume = 540 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: We got an unexpected bonus with shares of RYAAY gapping open lower this morning at $50.35. Our plan was to launch positions at the open today. Traders bought the dip near RYAAY's simple 50-dma. I would still consider new positions now at current levels.

*small positions*

current Position: Long RYAAY stock @ $50.35

Seagate Technology - STX - close: 43.14 change: -0.73

Stop Loss: 40.90

Entry on September 25 at $42.25
Listed on September 24, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 3.5 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: After yesterday's big move higher I'm not surprised to see some profit taking in STX today. Shares gave back -1.6%. Broken resistance near $42.00 should be new support. I am raising our stop loss to $40.90.

current Position: Long STX stock @ $42.25

suggested trigger was $55.15

Whiting Petroleum - WLL - close: 59.82 change: +0.96

Stop Loss: 57.45
Target(s): 62.00
Current Gain/Loss: +5.4%

Entry on September 24 at $56.75
Listed on September 23, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 1.5 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: WLL continues to impress with another strong gain (+1.6% today). The stock is now up seven out of the last eight trading days and shares paused at potential round-number resistance near the $60.00 level.

More conservative investors will want to seriously consider taking profits right here and now. We are going to keep the play open and continue aiming for the $62.00 level. However, we are raising the stop loss to $57.45.

Earlier Comments:
Our multi-week target is $62.00, although we may have to adjust that. It is possible that the $60.00 level could prove to be round-number, psychological resistance.

current Position: Long WLL stock @ $56.75

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Long 2014 Jan $60 call (WLL1418a60) entry $2.80*

More conservative traders may want to take profits right now with our trade up +5.4%. The call option is up +39%.

Comments:
09/26/13: The rally in YHOO is picking up speed. Shares surged +4.49% today to close at new multi-year highs. The simple 10-dma has risen to $30.69. We will adjust our stop loss to $30.49. More conservative investors might want to take profits now. I am adjusting our exit target down to $34.50.

Entry on September 18 at $38.75
Listed on September 17, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 1.0 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: Thursday was a quiet day for AXLL shares with the stock drifting sideways below the $38 level. I am not suggesting new positions. More conservative traders may want to adjust their stops closer to the simple 10-dma.

Earlier Comments:
Our target is $35.25. More aggressive traders may want to aim lower since the P&F chart is bearish with a quadruple-bottom breakdown sell signal and a $29.00 target.

FYI: AXLL is due to begin trading ex-dividend on September 25th. The quarterly cash dividend should be 16 cents.

current Position: short AXLL stock @ $38.75

Long Oct $40 PUT (AXLL1319v40) entry $2.20*

09/23/13 new stop loss @ 40.15

Omnicell, Inc. - OMCL - close: 24.07 change: -0.96

Stop Loss: 23.90
Target(s): 29.00

Entry on September 25 at $25.15
Listed on September 21, 2013
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 235 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
09/26/13: Sometimes bad luck happens. We waited patiently for OMCL to rally past resistance near $25.00 and hit our suggested entry trigger at $25.15. That finally occurred yesterday. This morning, before the opening bell, the stock was downgraded from a "buy" to a "neutral". Investors reacted by selling the stock. OMCL gapped down at $24.39 and hit our stop loss at $23.90 before paring its losses.

Our plan was to use small positions to help limit our risk.
