Editor's Note:
The U.S. market's major indices all closed in the green as the volatility index plunged.

Hewlett-Packard Co. - HPQ - close: 32.49 change: +0.10

Stop Loss: 31.75
Target(s): to be determined
Current Gain/Loss: - 1.1%

Entry on April 09 at $32.85
Listed on April 07, 2014
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 14.0 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: I am growing more concerned about HPQ's performance or rather the lack of its performance. Shares added +0.3% but that underperformed the S&P 500's +1.0% gain.

Yesterday's intraday low was $31.88. We're moving the stop loss to $31.75. More aggressive traders may want to keep their stop below the simple 50-dma, which is probably where HPQ is headed if shares breakdown from here.

Earlier Comments:
Plan on exiting prior to HPQ's earnings report in late May.

current Position: Long HPQ stock @ $32.85

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Long May $33 call (HPQ1417E33) entry $0.96

Average Daily Volume = 914 thousand

Comments:
04/16/14: PPC continues to show relative strength with today's +2.3% gain. This is a new multi-year high. PPC is on track for its tenth up week in a row.

Earlier Comments:
This is currently a short-term trade. We plan to exit prior to PPC's earnings report on April 30th. However, we might be tempted to hold over the announcement.

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

04/16/14: TPC is improving with a +1.6% bounce today. Shares are once again testing resistance near the $30.00 level. Monday's high was $30.29. Today's high was $30.24. Investors may want to wait for a move past $30.30 before initiating new positions.

current Position: Long TPC stock @ $30.25

04/14/14 triggered @ 30.25

BEARISH Play Updates

Apollo Education Group - APOL - close: 27.42 change: +0.43

Stop Loss: 28.25
Target(s): $26.00
Current Gain/Loss: + 8.1%

Entry on April 08 at $29.85
Listed on April 07, 2014
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 2.2 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: I am urging caution on our APOL trade. Shares are starting to bounce and they're certainly overdue for a rebound. Readers may want to exit immediately to lock in gains. I am adjusting our stop loss down to $28.05.

I am suggesting we exit the May $30 puts immediately to lock in potential gains. The current bid/ask spread is $2.79/2.87.

I am not suggesting new positions at this time.

Investors may want to use small positions to limit their risk. The most recent data listed short interest at 14% of the 98.2 million share float.

current Position: short APOL stock @ $29.85

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

Long May $30 PUT (APOL1417Q30) entry $1.45*

04/08/14 triggered @ 29.85

ChannelAdivsor - ECOM - close: 30.73 change: +0.34

Stop Loss: 31.60
Target(s): 25.25
Current Gain/Loss: - 3.3%

Entry on April 14 at $29.75
Listed on April 12, 2014
Time Frame: 3 to 4 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 625 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: After yesterday's performance we were expecting a bounce in ECOM today. Shares added +1.1%. The intraday high was only $31.28. I would still watch for technical resistance at its 10-dma near $31.47. I'm not suggesting new positions at this time.

Earlier Comments:
Traders may want to use put options to limit their risk. Our short-term target is $25.25. More aggressive traders may want to aim lower. The Point & Figure chart for ECOM is bearish with a $22.00 target.

CLOSED BEARISH PLAYS

Rocket Fuel Inc. - FUEL - close: 36.62 change: +0.06

Stop Loss: 37.55
Target(s): to be determined
Current Gain/Loss: -3.3%

Entry on April 15 at $35.40
Listed on April 14, 2014
Time Frame: exit PRIOR to earnings in mid May
Average Daily Volume = 559 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: FUEL ended the day with only a six-cent gain. Not that bad, right? Unfortunately shares gapped open higher this morning at $38.00. After yesterday's huge rebound off its intraday lows we decided to lower our stop to $37.55. Thus the gap higher today closed our play.

The overall trend for FUEL is still bearish. Investors could watch it for a new failed rally near $40.00 as another entry point for bearish positions.

CORRECTION: There was a typo in yesterday's update. Our entry point on FUEL was $35.40. Not $37.55, which was our new stop loss.

Earlier Comments:
Use small positions to limit risk. The Point & Figure chart for FUEL is bearish with a $30.00 target.

closed Position: short FUEL stock @ $35.40 exit $38.00 (-7.3%)

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

May $35 PUT (FUEL1417Q35) entry $3.40* exit $2.00** (-41.1%)

04/15/14 triggered @ 35.40

chart:

Gogo Inc. - GOGO - close: 16.99 change: +0.86

Stop Loss: 17.05
Target(s): to be determined
Current Gain/Loss: + 5.0%

Entry on April 14 at $17.95
Listed on April 08, 2014
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 3.1 million
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: The rebound in GOGO continued and shares hit $17.08 at its highest levels this afternoon. That was enough to tag our new stop loss at $17.05.

Earlier Comments:
Investors may want to use small positions or consider using put options to limit their risk. There are already a lot of bears in this name. The most recent data listed short interest at 31% of the small 30.9 million share float. There is definitely fuel for a short squeeze but that doesn't guarantee one.

*small positions*

closed Position: short GOGO stock @ $17.95 exit $17.05 (+5.0%)

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

MAY $17.50 PUT (GOGO1417Q17.5) entry $1.53 exit $2.00* (+30.7%)

Qiwi Plc - QIWI - close: 31.77 change: +0.77

Stop Loss: 32.05
Target(s): 22.50
Current Gain/Loss: - 7.4%

Entry on April 14 at $29.85
Listed on April 10, 2014
Time Frame: 6 to 8 weeks
Average Daily Volume = 619 thousand
New Positions: see below

Comments:
04/16/14: European stocks were up across the board today as investors ignored growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Shares of QIWI, with a bullish European market and a bullish American market to boost it, outperformed the major indices with a +2.4% gain. Our stop was hit at $32.05.

Earlier Comments:
Keep in mind that as a foreign company their stock could gap open (up or down) each morning as U.S. shares adjust to trading overseas. Therefore I am suggesting small positions to limit our risk. Or instead of shorting QIWI stock consider limiting your risk with put options.

*small positions*

closed Position: short QIWI stock @ $29.85 exit $32.05 (-7.4%)

- (or for more adventurous traders, try this option) -

MAY $30 PUT (QIWI1417Q30) entry $2.70* exit $1.80 (-33.3%)
