Market Summary
Better-than-expected data related to housing starts and unemployment claims boosted the stock market higher today. Prices appear to be holding up in after hours trading. January options expire tomorrow and current price action appears to limit the risk of falling prices prior to expiration.

SPY Position Update ---------------------------------------------------------------
SPY closed at $148.00 on Thursday

The December 27th Couch Potato published a January expiration SPY bull put spread
The put spread should expire worthless for an approx. $1,000 gain tomorrow. However, if what would have to be a truly catastrophic event happens overnight and the SPY trades down to approx. $140, we will have to play it safe and immediately buy back the $ 135 short put contracts. (see tables below)

GLD Position Update --------------------------------------------------------------
GLD closed at $163.35 on Thursday

The December 17th Couch Potato set up a January expiration GLD bull put spread
We plan on letting the put spread worthless for an approx. $1,100 gain. However, if GLD sinks below $160 tomorrow the best bet is to play it safe and immediately buy back the short $158 strike put contracts. (see tables below)

Exit Plan
As mentioned above, January options expire tomorrow and we expect both the SPY and GLD put contracts should expire worthless.

Happy Trading
